The twin moves signal a push for measurable standards alongside real-time wildlife monitoring across the state.

Overview

  • Officials say Hyderabad’s Nehru Zoological Park is the only zoo in India to achieve the ISO 9001 mark six years in a row and it has also secured a five-star management rating.
  • The Forest Department launched a Tiger Protection Cell with a modern monitoring cell and a Hyderabad-based command hub that the minister described as a first-of-its-kind initiative.
  • The State Command and Control Centre is linked to new hubs in Mannanur and Mancherial using CCTV, camera traps and GPS for round-the-clock tracking and quicker response.
  • Field officers have been directed to upload daily reports by 5.30 p.m., and officials also reported the zoo has earned ISO 14001 environmental certification.
