  • Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement officers operated in plain clothes and used a decoy setup in Gachibowli after intercepting the code phrase “Bhai baccha aa gaya bhai.”
  • Fourteen individuals, including IT professionals, a student, and two married couples (one accompanied by a four-year-old child), were detained for attempting to purchase cannabis.
  • On-the-spot urine tests confirmed cannabis use and led to referrals of all arrested buyers to certified de-addiction centres.
  • The primary supplier, identified as repeat offender Sandeep, evaded arrest but left behind a digital database detailing over 100 regular customers.
  • Police are now combing through seized WhatsApp logs and contact lists to locate 86 additional consumers and dismantle the broader network.
