Overview
- Yerramsetty Raju (33) and Kandurelli Raju (24) of Gannavaram were arrested on May 28 in a forested area near HMT in Jeedimetla.
- Thirteen country-made bombs, four mobile phones and a letter demanding ₹50 lakh were recovered from the suspects.
- The duo first left a threatening letter claiming Naxalite ties on the complainant’s car on May 22 and then assembled an improvised explosive device in Vizianagaram.
- Jeedimetla police analysed more than 500 CCTV footages to identify the two men and track their movements.
- Police say financial distress drove the conspiracy and that one of the accused has a prior property offence record in Gannavaram.
