Overview
- Officers intercepted a Maharashtra-registered SUV in the Addakal police limits of Mahabubnagar and recovered ₹4.05 crore in cash that was being moved illegally.
- Police identified the detained men as Prakash Motibhai Prajapathi, 30, and Pragnesh Keerthibai Prajapathi, 28, both from Gujarat.
- Investigators said Prakash admitted he had transported the seized hawala money on a Nagpur-to-Bengaluru route.
- Prakash also confessed to receiving ₹50 lakh in August 2024 in a cash–RTGS deal tied to a complaint by V. Vishwanath Chary that promised ₹60 lakh via RTGS but never delivered.
- Authorities said the cash was seized for verification, the probe continues, and citizens were urged to report suspicious hawala movements or easy-money schemes.
