Hyderabad Police Seize ₹4.05 Crore in Hawala Cash, Detain Gujarat Businessman

Police say the Gujarat businessman confessed to a prior cash–RTGS cheating case following an interception in Mahabubnagar.

  • Investigators said Prakash admitted he had transported the seized hawala money on a Nagpur-to-Bengaluru route.
  • Prakash also confessed to receiving ₹50 lakh in August 2024 in a cash–RTGS deal tied to a complaint by V. Vishwanath Chary that promised ₹60 lakh via RTGS but never delivered.
  • Authorities said the cash was seized for verification, the probe continues, and citizens were urged to report suspicious hawala movements or easy-money schemes.
