Hyderabad Police Issue Winter-Fog Advisories, Step Up Patrols

Police emphasize slower speeds, fog lights, reflective gear for low-visibility stretches on ORR, highways.

Overview

  • Cyberabad Police on Nov. 19 urged maximum caution on ORR, highways and major roads, directing drivers to use low beams, switch on fog lights in affected zones, reduce speed, keep safe gaps and avoid overtaking.
  • Rachakonda Police on Nov. 18 issued parallel guidance on disciplined driving and vehicle readiness, stressing checks on brakes, lights, wipers and tyres, plus first-aid kits and school-bus safety compliance.
  • Officers specified not to use hazard lights while moving, to brake gently, follow lane markings, avoid cruise control in fog, and to rely on indicators early with tail-lamps kept clean and visible.
  • Additional precautions included defogger or anti-fog use, slightly open windows to limit misting, GPS navigation for clarity, no roadside parking at night, reflective stickers for heavy vehicles, and reflective jackets for two-wheelers.
  • Both commissionerates said patrolling and awareness drives will intensify through the season, and Rachakonda’s chief reminded citizens that Good Samaritans who rush crash victims to hospital within the first hour may receive ₹25,000 under the central scheme.
