Overview
- The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing and Chaderghat police conducted a joint operation that led to the arrests on Saturday.
- Officers seized 74 vials of mephentermine sulphate injections and four mobile phones valued at ₹1.28 lakh.
- Those held were identified as Mohd Imran Ali alias Kala Imran, a rowdy-sheeter; medical-store owner Ranga Shanker Goud; Apollo Pharmacy employee Dharamkar Ritesh Kumar; and his brother Dharamkar Mohit Kumar.
- Police say Imran, addicted to the drug, procured injections from a Delhi-based supplier through an associate and locally via the Kumar brothers, with the group selling them without prescriptions at inflated prices.
- Chaderghat police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and investigators say the Delhi supplier and Imran’s associate Yawar remain at large.
