Hyderabad Police Deport Nigerian National Over Long Visa Overstay

Officers cite alleged drug-peddling history despite no seizure at detention.

  • Okoro, 43, also known as Hopy Cup and Jeksa, hails from Imo State and had been living in India after his passport and visa lapsed.
  • He entered India on a business visa in 2012, initially worked in the garment trade, and later moved between Bengaluru and Hyderabad while overstaying.
  • H-NEW detained him in the Asif Nagar area after observing suspicious movement, and a search yielded no drugs.
  • Police report that H-NEW has deported 22 foreign nationals since its formation, including 10 this year, as part of ongoing action against visa overstays.
