Overview

  • The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing arrested Maxwell Anthony Izuchukwu, Chinaza Nnanna Vivian, Mwajuma Almasi Masisila and Ahmed Hamid Abujabr Hamid on July 7 over suspected drug-peddling ties in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
  • Verification by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office revealed that all four had entered on tourist, student or medical visas that had since expired.
  • Despite suspicions of involvement in narcotics distribution, thorough searches yielded no drugs or contraband on the suspects.
  • Deportation procedures were finalized in coordination with the FRRO and the individuals’ respective embassies, and each has been blacklisted to prevent re-entry into India.
  • Officials warned that ongoing operations targeting visa-overstay networks will continue to address public health and national security risks.
