Hyderabad Police Bust Network Forging Property Papers

Seized seals, stamp papers and printers reveal a coordinated forgery ring that enabled fake property transfers.

Overview

  • Police arrested document writer Devaguptapu Veera Venkata Satyanarayana and his assistant Pole Raju in a raid at Prathap Rudra Dreams Apartment on Wednesday, October 7.
  • In a related SOT action the same day officers arrested real-estate brokers Mohd Khaja Pasha and Mohammed Zulfikhar Ali and recovered forged land documents, fake revenue stamps, a computer and a printer.
  • Across the two raids investigators seized 25 non-judicial stamp papers, 41 rubber stamps and seals that included marks purporting to belong to 23 Sub-Registrar offices, GHMC, HMDA and other authorities.
  • Police say the suspects forged signatures, impersonated municipal and registration officials, and used fabricated sale, gift and power-of-attorney papers to target disputed, abandoned or vulnerable properties while several associates remain absconding.
  • Authorities have urged buyers to verify title deeds, encumbrance certificates, registration and revenue records and physical possession as investigators trace transactions to identify victims and pursue legal action.
