Hyderabad Old City Metro Corridor Enters Active Construction Phase

  • Engineering realignment has cut affected properties from about 1,100 to roughly 900 through optimized design and route adjustments.
  • Authorities have issued acquisition awards for 412 properties, completed 380 demolitions and disbursed ₹360 crore in compensation.
  • Ground marking for pillars spaced around 25 metres apart and for future station sites is now under way alongside road-widening works.
  • A geotechnical agency has been engaged following a differential GPS survey and is set to begin soil bearing capacity tests imminently.
  • Preparatory works include daily progress reviews, expedited clearance of remaining properties and relocation of sewerage, water, stormwater and all electricity lines underground.
