Overview

• Registered FIRs declined from 38,206 to 31,533 when comparing September 2023–August 2024 with September 2024–August 2025.

• Key violent categories recorded declines, including murder down 14% (85 to 73), rape down 23% (632 to 485), attempts to murder down 29% (259 to 185), and outraging modesty of women down 20%.
• Dowry deaths rose 18% (11 to 13), kidnapping showed a decline though articles report 10% and 12% inconsistently, and police said city festivals and gatherings have remained peaceful.
