Overview
- On July 29 at around 3:45 am at NTR Marg, Mohammed Raheel filmed and physically assaulted a software engineer and his female colleague wearing a hijab, questioning her interfaith companionship.
- Deputy Commissioner K. Shilpavalli confirmed Raheel used abusive language, threatened dire consequences and even threw a helmet at one victim before the pair escaped.
- Police registered a case at Saifabad Police Station under relevant sections of the BNS Act and Information Technology Act following the IT employee’s complaint.
- CCTV analysis led officers to Charminar, where Raheel was arrested; he confessed during interrogation and authorities seized his mobile phone and bike as key evidence.
