Hyderabad Airport Says Three Bomb-Threatened Flights Landed Safely After Overnight Alerts

Airport investigators are tracing the source of repeated email threats.

Overview

  • Late on December 7, emails sent to the airport’s customer-support address named British Airways BA 277 from Heathrow, Lufthansa LH 752 from Frankfurt, and IndiGo 6E 7178 from Kannur.
  • The IndiGo flight landed at 10:50 pm on Sunday, Lufthansa touched down around 2:00 am, and the British Airways service arrived about 5:25–5:30 am on Monday.
  • Standard protocols moved the aircraft to isolated bays, screened passengers and baggage, deployed sniffer dogs, and kept fire and rescue teams ready, with no suspicious items found.
  • The alerts follow a spate of similar emails over the past week, including Kuwait Airways KU 373 returning to origin and an IndiGo Madina–Hyderabad flight diverting to Ahmedabad after earlier threats.
  • The disruptions unfolded during widespread IndiGo cancellations that drew a DGCA show-cause notice to CEO Pieter Elbers, with a response due by 6 pm on December 8.
