Overview

• The collision occurred around 10 p.m. Thursday in the 5300 block of South Dorchester Avenue when the motorcycle driver ran a traffic signal and struck a southbound sedan
• The Cook County medical examiner identified the victim as 27-year-old Jean Carlos Hernandez of the Kenwood neighborhood who later died at University of Chicago Medical Center
• The sedan’s 20-year-old driver and two male passengers were taken to the hospital and are reported in good condition
• No citations have been issued and no arrests have been made as CPD’s Major Accident Investigations Unit continues its investigation
• Chicago police initially described the rider as 28 years old but the medical examiner’s report corrected his age and confirmed his identity
