Huntingdon Train Attack Suspect Charged With Seven Further Offences From Day-Before Incidents

Investigators link alleged offences in Peterborough and Stevenage to the suspect, expanding the case.

Overview

  • British Transport Police say Anthony Williams, 32, will appear at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court today to face seven additional counts.
  • The new allegations include the attempted murder of a 14-year-old at Henry Penn Walk and a 22-year-old near Pleasure Fair Meadow Road in Peterborough on October 31.
  • Other counts allege attempted grievous bodily harm of a 28-year-old at Viersen Platz, affray and possession of a bladed article at Ritzy Barbers, theft of knives from an Asda in Stevenage, and a common assault on a train between Hitchin and Biggleswade.
  • Williams remains remanded on 10 attempted‑murder charges stemming from the November 1 LNER train attack that stopped at Huntingdon, where he was arrested.
  • BTP says it worked with Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire police and the CPS to bring the new charges, as LNER crew member Samir Zitouni continues recovery at home after discharge from hospital.
