Hunter in Virginia Killed by Falling Bear After Shooting Incident

A 58-year-old man succumbed to injuries after a bear, shot by his hunting group, fell from a tree and struck him.

A group of hunters had driven a bear up a tree, and one of them fatally shot the animal, causing it to fall.
The falling bear struck Lester C. Harvey Jr., a 58-year-old father of five, who was standing three meters away from the tree.
Harvey was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries on December 13, despite initial stabilization efforts.
The local wildlife authority has stated that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with the accident.
