Hunger Games Stars Open to Return for Potential Prequels

Sam Claflin and Josh Hutcherson express interest in reprising roles, but future of franchise remains uncertain without new material from author Suzanne Collins.

Sam Claflin, who played Finnick Odair in the original Hunger Games movies, has expressed interest in returning to the franchise, potentially as Finnick's father in a prequel.
Josh Hutcherson, who played Peeta Mellark, has also indicated he would be willing to return to the franchise if the original cast was involved.
Despite the interest from actors, it is currently unclear if there will be more Hunger Games movies as author Suzanne Collins has not written any novels that continue the story past Mockingjay.
Francis Lawrence, director of the film franchise, has stated that any future installments would need to be based on an idea from Collins herself.
Both Claflin and Hutcherson have praised the recent prequel film, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
