Overview
- Eick & Weber launched a free online casting call on July 8 for up to 4,000 extras, with applications accepted until September 17 for filming slated from late August through early October in Cologne and Duisburg.
- Interested participants must submit personal details and two current photos via casting-panem.de and should be prepared for between one and eight shooting days.
- The casting is open to all ages, genders and ethnicities—from infants to octogenarians—with a particular need for children, young adults up to 22, military-trained individuals and Chinese-descent participants for specific scenes.
- Extras must maintain a bare, expressive appearance without dyed hair, permanent makeup, lip fillers, tattoos or piercings, must exhibit slender body types and are asked to grow their hair through mid-September for styling trials; visible scars or amputations are especially welcome.
- The call feeds into Francis Lawrence’s new adaptation of Suzanne Collins’s March 2025 prequel novel, reuniting the director with Lionsgate and lead actors Glenn Close, Ralph Fiennes and Elle Fanning ahead of its November 2026 release.
