The Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, takes viewers back to the 10th annual Hunger Games, 64 years before Katniss Everdeen's story, focusing on a young Coriolanus Snow.
The film's director, Francis Lawrence, and producer Nina Jacobson have expressed interest in exploring more stories within the Hunger Games universe, particularly focusing on characters like Finnick, Haymitch, and Tigris.
Peter Dinklage, who plays Casca Highbottom in the prequel, believes that viewers do not need to have seen the original Hunger Games films to enjoy the prequel.
The prequel introduces Tigris, played by Hunter Schafer, as Snow's cousin and confidante, who becomes disillusioned by his actions throughout the movie.
The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes is currently only available in theaters, with a streaming release expected in early 2024.
