Hunger Games Director Regrets Splitting Final Book into Two Movies

Director Francis Lawrence acknowledges frustrations from fans over the decision to split the final book Mockingjay into two films.
Lawrence initially defended the strategy but now regrets the long wait between the 2014 and 2015 films.
The split allowed more content from the book to be included but came across as disingenuous to fans.
Lawrence says the upcoming Hunger Games prequel film, releasing in 2023, will not be split into multiple parts.
At 2 hours and 36 minutes, the prequel will be the longest Hunger Games movie to adapt more content from the book.
