Hundreds Charged in Widespread UK Disorder

Recent unrest across England and Northern Ireland leads to numerous arrests and significant jail sentences.

A total of 460 individuals have appeared in court on charges related to the disorder.
David Wilkinson received the longest sentence so far, jailed for six years for violent disorder and racially aggravated crimes.
Charges include violent disorder, burglary, and stirring up racial hatred, with some facing the more serious charge of riot.
The majority of those charged are males aged between 18 and 30, with 95% of adult defendants being male.
Many of the incidents involved attacks on police, minorities, and properties, with some suspects denied bail and held on remand.
