Hummus and Coriander Batches Removed Across Ireland After Listeria Recall

Authorities urge customers to discard or return any affected products after all identified items were cleared from shelves.

Overview

  • The Food Safety Authority of Ireland detected possible Listeria monocytogenes in Tom & Ollie Traditional Hummus batch VG189 and multiple O'Hanlon Herbs potted coriander batches on August 7.
  • Major retailers including Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Lidl, Aldi, SuperValu and Dunnes Stores have pulled all implicated hummus and coriander products and displayed warning notices at points of sale.
  • Consumers and catering establishments are instructed to dispose of or return any of the affected batches and to ensure none are used in food preparation.
  • Officials warn that pregnant women, infants, older adults and people with weakened immune systems are at greatest risk of serious listeriosis infection.
  • The FSAI confirms there is no connection between this recall and recent separate listeriosis incidents linked to ready-to-heat meals or spinach and mixed leaves.
