Overview
- Video circulating on social platforms shows a humanoid robot at a sandwich-shop opening in Ujjain performing a ceremonial welcome, greeting attendees and breaking into a dance.
- The robot arrived with visible security around it and was filmed shaking hands, waving and being presented with welcome stoles by staff and guests.
- Multiple outlets report the machine was supplied by Indore-based Bidyut Innovation, but that attribution is based on single-source reporting and has not been independently confirmed.
- Online reaction to the clip was mixed, with many users amused by the spectacle and others expressing concern that wider use of humanoids could threaten service jobs.
- The appearance follows a wider trend of humanoid robots being shown outside labs and expos, a pattern seen after industry events such as the 2026 World Robot Conference where companies demonstrated real-world uses for humanoids.
