• Builders renovating a home on Cleveland Road in Lytham reported finding suspected bones at 12:37pm on August 15.
• Lancashire Police confirmed the remains are human and say early inquiries indicate they may be those of children.
• Detective Inspector Andrew Crook said the case is not being treated as suspicious as officers keep an open mind.
• The remains have been removed from the property while forensic work continues to determine age, identity and cause of death.
