An autopsy at the state medical examiner’s office is scheduled to determine identity as well as cause of death.

Overview

  • A hunter discovered apparent human remains in heavy brush along a power-line corridor off South Bow Road and called 911, and Bow police confirmed a deceased person at the scene.
  • The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and New Hampshire State Police are assisting Bow Police and describe the probe as an active, early-stage death investigation.
  • An autopsy is scheduled at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord to establish the person’s identity and cause and time of death.
  • Authorities say the person’s age, gender, and identity are unknown and they will withhold further details until autopsy and initial forensic work are complete.
  • Investigators have asked anyone who walked the powerline or nearby trails from South Bow Road to Twist Hill Road in Dunbarton within the last week to contact the investigation unit at 603-628-8477 or mcu@dos.nh.gov, and callers may remain anonymous.
