Human Remains Discovered in Burned SUV at Abbotsford Park

Police are investigating the case as a potential homicide after finding a body in a torched vehicle in Sumas Mountain Regional Park.

Abbotsford police responded to a vehicle fire on Friday afternoon at Sumas Mountain Regional Park in British Columbia.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and discovered human remains inside a red 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander.
The investigation has been handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) as a possible homicide case.
Authorities are working with the BC Coroners Service to identify the deceased individual found in the vehicle.
The park remains closed to the public while investigators gather evidence, and police are urging anyone with information to contact IHIT.
