Hulu's 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' Sequel Nears Pilot Order with Casting Underway

Sarah Michelle Gellar to reprise her role as Buffy Summers in a recurring capacity while a new Slayer, Nova, and her team take center stage.

The sequel series will introduce a new Slayer, tentatively named Nova, described as a cerebral 16-year-old loner with a focus on intellect over charisma.
Nova's 'Scoobies' will include Hugo, an out-and-proud nerd from a wealthy background, and Gracie, a young vampire expert and loyal follower of Buffy.
Sarah Michelle Gellar is confirmed to return as Buffy Summers in a recurring guest role and will also serve as an executive producer.
The project is led by a female-driven creative team, with Chloé Zhao attached as director and executive producer, and Nora and Lilla Zuckerman as showrunners.
Casting for the main roles is currently ongoing as Hulu moves closer to officially greenlighting the pilot for the highly anticipated continuation of the Buffyverse.
