Overview

• The official trailer, released June 23, introduces George Washington “Wash” Black’s escape from a Barbados plantation and the globe-trotting adventure that reshapes his views on family, freedom and love.
• Sterling K. Brown stars as Medwin Harris, a refugee turned community leader in Halifax, and executive produces alongside showrunners Selwyn Seyfu Hinds and Kimberly Ann Harrison.
• Ernest Kingsley Jr. and Eddie Karanja portray Wash at different ages, supported by Tom Ellis, Rupert Graves, Iola Evans, Edward Bluemel and Sharon Duncan-Brewster.
• Viewers get a glimpse of fantastical elements from Esi Edugyan’s 2018 novel, including a flying airship dubbed “The Cloud Cutter” and voyages over ocean depths and desert sands.
