Hulu has greenlit a pilot for a new 'Prison Break' series, marking a continuation of the franchise with a fresh storyline and characters.
The project will be helmed by Elgin James, known for his work on 'Mayans M.C.' and 'The Outlaws,' alongside original series creator Paul Scheuring and key executive producers from the original show.
The new series will not feature Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) or Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), instead focusing on a new group of characters within the same universe.
This marks the latest expansion of the 'Prison Break' franchise, which previously included a revival season, a TV movie, and other media like a novel and a video game.
All five seasons of the original series remain popular on Hulu, with nearly 200 million hours streamed in 2024, underscoring continued interest in the franchise.
