Hulu Faces Outages During First Oscars Livestream

Technical issues disrupted Hulu's stream of the 97th Academy Awards, leaving thousands of subscribers unable to watch the event.

Hulu experienced widespread technical problems during its first-ever live stream of the Oscars, which began at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Over 34,000 users reported issues accessing the service, including login failures, blank screens, and error messages, according to Downdetector.
Hulu's support team acknowledged the disruptions on X, stating they were investigating the issue with high priority and working to resolve it quickly.
Some users faced additional complications, such as being unable to bypass a new subscriber agreement page or receiving location-based unavailability notices.
The Oscars, hosted by Conan O’Brien, were also airing on ABC, and Hulu planned to make the event available for on-demand viewing starting Monday, March 3.
