Hulu Developing These Summer Storms as a Drama Series

Overview

• Hulu is developing a television adaptation of Sarah MacLean’s novel These Summer Storms at 20th Television with Erin and Sara Foster producing under their Fatigue Sisters banner.
• Melanie Marnich is attached to write and serve as showrunner and executive producer, and MacLean will also be an executive producer on the project.
• The story centers on Alice Storm, who returns to her wealthy family’s private Rhode Island island after her father’s sudden death, framing the show as a family and wealth drama.
• The project is in early development and has not announced casting, a series order, or a premiere date.
• The announcement adds to the Foster sisters’ slate at 20th Television and follows Marnich’s recent high-profile literary adaptations, making casting and a formal series pickup the next items to watch.
