Hull Woman Jailed for Year After Glassing and Bottling Attacks and Probation Breaches

The court ruled custody was necessary due to repeated probation breaches.

Overview

  • Hull Crown Court imposed a 12-month custodial term after Blaze Jessop admitted breaching two suspended sentences.
  • The offences were a 2023 Bridlington glassing that left a 12cm facial wound requiring 15 stitches and permanent scarring, and a later bottling that caused serious cuts to a woman’s face.
  • The probation service said she missed multiple appointments and was verbally aggressive on calls despite being offered repeated opportunities to engage.
  • Jessop admitted failing to attend probation on July 21 and August 8 this year and also confessed to three further assaults on women.
  • Judge Mark Bury said attempts at rehabilitation had been exhausted and that immediate custody was now required to protect the public and enforce court orders.
