Hull Funeral Director Charged with 64 Offences Following Investigation

Robert Bush faces charges including fraud, theft, and preventing lawful burials after 35 bodies and human ashes were uncovered at his funeral home.

Robert Bush, 47, has been charged with 64 offences, including 30 counts of preventing lawful burials and 30 counts of fraud by false representation.
The charges stem from a 10-month investigation into Legacy Independent Funeral Directors in Hull, where 35 bodies and suspected human ashes were discovered.
Bush is also accused of fraudulent trading involving funeral plans affecting 172 victims and fraud linked to human ashes involving 50 victims.
Additional charges include two counts of theft from charities between September 2022 and March 2024.
Bush has been bailed to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court on June 25, 2025, while affected families and additional victims are being contacted by authorities.
