Overview
- Hull College initiated a full lockdown and closed early at 2.30pm after staff received a threatening phone call referencing bomb threats.
- Humberside Police were dispatched to the college and secured the multiple sites before students and staff were safely evacuated.
- After initial on-site enquiries the force said it currently believes the call to be a hoax and continues formal investigations.
- A student at the Hull School of Art and Design described staff leading pupils to a dark room, closing blinds and barricading doors during the lockdown.
- Police asked anyone with information to contact the non-emergency number 101 and quote incident log 226 of 19 June as enquiries progress.
