In the memoir, Crystal alleges that Hefner was controlling, dictating her appearance and enforcing a strict curfew.
Crystal also claims that the Playboy Mansion was in a state of disrepair, with birds on the property dying of thirst.
Hefner's ex-wife, Kimberly Conrad, has criticized Crystal's claims, suggesting that she is trying to profit from the situation and that she had the opportunity to leave but chose to stay for the 'notoriety, opportunity and money'.
Conrad also alleges that it was Hefner who was being exploited by Crystal in his later years.
