Huawei Steps Up HarmonyOS Expansion With AI Investments, OS 6 Preview Push and SP10 Updates

Huawei is extending HarmonyOS 6 tester enrollment to September 29 to drive broader developer participation.

Overview

  • HarmonyOS 6.0.0.100 developer and user-try preview began rolling out on September 16 for 43 supported models with features including AI anti-fraud, AI de-glare and scenario modes, and the package size is about 11.19GB.
  • Phase II recruitment for the HarmonyOS 6 developer experience has been extended to September 29, allowing both developers and try users to apply with reviews expected in 3–7 working days.
  • HarmonyOS 5.1.0.150 SP10 is now being pushed in batches to Mate 70 phones and MatePad tablets, adding a festival limited-time camera watermark, a Gallery “scan as document” tool, personalized album covers and notification refinements.
  • Some devices have received the HarmonyOS 6.0.0.100 SP6 developer patch that improves display effects and system stability and fixes a no-sound issue when connecting headphones in special cases.
  • Huawei reports more than 17 million HarmonyOS 5 devices and over 1,300 compatible products and has launched the Tian Gong Plan with 1 billion RMB alongside 15 billion RMB in ecosystem funds, 1,500 PFLOPS of community compute and a 15,000-person developer support team.
