HSBC Names Georges Elhedery as New CEO

Elhedery to lead Europe's largest bank starting September 2, following Noel Quinn's retirement.

Georges Elhedery, currently HSBC's CFO, will succeed Noel Quinn as CEO.
Elhedery has extensive international experience, having worked in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
The appointment comes amid investor pressure to shift HSBC's focus towards Asia.
Quinn will assist in the transition and remain available until April 2025.
HSBC has not yet announced Elhedery's successor as CFO.
