Overview

• Officers responded shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday to the 1000–1100 block of Sydnor Street in the Fifth Ward after reports of gunfire.
• Police found a man with at least one gunshot wound at an apartment complex; he was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
• HPD said the victim was 33 years old, and the medical examiner is verifying his identity.
