Overview
- On Monday, January 19, vehicles with yellow sticker, holograms 1 or 2, and plates ending in 5 or 6—including out‑of‑state—may not circulate from 05:00 to 22:00.
- The rule applies across all 16 Mexico City boroughs and designated Estado de México municipalities, including the Valle de Toluca and Tianguistenco zones.
- Penalties reported include 20–30 UMAs in Mexico City plus possible towing to a corralón, and 20 UMAs in parts of Estado de México, with some outlets citing higher maximums up to 200 UMAs.
- Exempt vehicles include electric and certain hybrid models, motorcycles, agricultural and construction machinery, classic or antique plates, and those with holograms 0 or 00 under normal conditions.
- Motorists can confirm eligibility at hoynocircula.cdmx.gob.mx using their hologram or plate digit, and should monitor CAMe advisories in case contingency measures expand restrictions.
