Overview
- Drivers with the green sticker and plates ending in 1 or 2 are restricted from 5:00 to 22:00 Thursday, April 9, if their vehicle has verification hologram 1 or 2.
- The rule applies across the 16 Mexico City boroughs and in 18 State of Mexico municipalities, including Naucalpan, Ecatepec, Nezahualcóyotl, Tlalnepantla and Toluca.
- Exempt vehicles include those with hologram 00 or 0, electric and hybrid cars, motorcycles, taxis, public transport and freight units, plus health workers with an authorized tarjetón.
- Traffic officers can stop and impound cars that violate the rule and issue fines of about 2,346 to 3,519 pesos under the city’s traffic regulations.
- A 6:00 a.m. report showed good air quality in the Valley of Mexico, so no environmental contingency was declared and the standard Thursday schedule remains in force.
