Overview
- On Saturday, November 22, vehicles with Hologram 1 and even plate endings (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) and all vehicles with Hologram 2 must stay off the road.
- Restrictions run from 5:00 to 22:00 and cover all 16 Mexico City boroughs and 18 conurbated municipalities in the State of Mexico within the Valley of Mexico.
- Exempt categories include Hologram 00 and 0, electric and hybrid vehicles, motorcycles, public transport, emergency units, and other officially authorized exceptions.
- Out-of-state plates face tighter limits, including Saturday bans for vehicles without recognized local verification, while neighboring states with homologated programs follow the same criteria if their checks are current.
- Traffic police are enforcing penalties of 20 to 30 UMAs (about 2,075 to 3,113 pesos) with possible towing, and the city’s 6:00 a.m. report rated air quality as poor due to PM10 and PM2.5.
