Overview
- Thursday’s ban applies to vehicles with green stickers and plates ending in 1 or 2 that hold verification hologram 1 or 2.
- Exempt vehicles include those with holograms 00 or 0, electric and hybrid models, motorcycles, taxis, public transport, cargo vehicles and authorized health-worker units.
- Restrictions run daily from 5:00 to 22:00 across Mexico City’s 16 boroughs and the 18 municipalities added in Valle de Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco.
- No Doble Hoy No Circula measure has been activated due to stable air-quality readings in the Valley of Mexico.
- Drivers who violate the ban face fines of 20 to 30 UMAs—equivalent to roughly 2,075 to 3,112 pesos—and potential impoundment under the city’s traffic regulations.
