Overview
- On Thursday, August 20, vehicles with green engomado and plate endings 1 or 2 that carry verification holograms 1 or 2 were barred from 05:00 to 22:00 under the standard Hoy No Circula calendar.
- On Friday, August 21, the restriction shifted to vehicles with blue engomado and plate endings 9 or 0 with holograms 1 or 2, again enforced from 05:00 to 22:00 across CDMX and the 18 adjacent State of Mexico municipalities.
- Official air-quality readings from the IMECA network reported low pollution levels on the mornings of those days, so CAMe kept the program in its ordinary mode rather than declaring Fase 1 or higher contingency measures.
- Exemptions continue to include vehicles with holograms 00 and 0, approved electric and hybrid units and designated service vehicles, while cars without current verification may not circulate Monday through Saturday.
- Drivers who violate the daily restrictions face fines typically set at 20–30 UMA and possible vehicle remittance to a corralón, so authorities urge checking the official CAMe/Dirección de Monitoreo Atmosférico channels before traveling.
