Overview
- Restrictions today apply to blue-sticker vehicles with plates ending in 9 and 0 that carry hologram 1 or 2.
- The rule is in force from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. across all Mexico City boroughs and the 18 designated State of Mexico municipalities.
- Exempt vehicles include those with 00 and 0 holograms, electric and hybrid cars, motorcycles, public transport, taxis, freight transport, disability plates, and authorized health‑worker vehicles.
- Noncompliance can lead to vehicle detention and fines, reported as 2,074.80–3,112.20 pesos under the Traffic Regulations or roughly 20–30 UMA (about 2,262–3,394 pesos).
- If cited, drivers must obtain and print the payment slip from the Secretariat of Finance portal and pay at authorized sites, and vehicles remain retained until payment is confirmed.
