Hoy No Circula for Tuesday: Pink Stickers, Plates 7–8 Restricted in CDMXEdomex

Air monitors report poor conditions with no contingency declared.

Overview

  • On Tuesday, September 23, vehicles with pink stickers, plates ending 7 or 8, and hologram 1 or 2 must stay off the road from 05:00 to 22:00 across Mexico City and participating State of Mexico municipalities.
  • CAMe and the city atmospheric monitoring system reported degraded air quality that could justify extra measures, but no environmental contingency was activated as of the latest updates.
  • Exempt vehicles include those with holograms 00 and 0, electric and hybrid cars, motorcycles, taxis, public transport, heavy cargo, and authorized health‑worker vehicles.
  • Out‑of‑state vehicles without local verification are treated as hologram 2 and must comply, and some guidance specifies a 05:00–11:00 restriction window for foráneo plates.
  • The harmonized program applies throughout the 16 CDMX boroughs and designated Edomex jurisdictions, with coverage expanded since July to the Valle de Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco zones, and violations can draw fines of roughly MXN 2,074.80–3,112.20 plus possible towing.
