- Restrictions run from 5:00 to 22:00 for vehicles with pink stickers, plate digits 7 and 8, and verification holograms 1 or 2.
- Vehicles with holograms 00 or 0, as well as electric and hybrid cars, are exempt, along with motorcycles, taxis, public transport, heavy cargo and authorized health‑worker vehicles.
- The program operates across all 16 boroughs of Mexico City and in multiple State of Mexico municipalities, including the expanded Valle de Toluca coverage introduced this summer.
- Mexico City applies fines of about 20 to 30 UMAs (roughly 2,074.80 to 3,112.20 pesos) and may impound vehicles that violate the restriction.
- Many municipalities in the State of Mexico remain in a socialization phase without monetary penalties, with fines scheduled to begin on January 1, 2026.
