Overview
- Restrictions run from 5:00 to 22:00 across all 16 boroughs of Mexico City and 18 State of Mexico municipalities in the Valley of Mexico.
- Vehicles with Hologram 2 and those with Hologram 1 whose plates end in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 must stay off the road this first Saturday of the month.
- Exempt vehicles include those with 00 or 0 holograms, electric and hybrid cars, and passenger transport; motorcycles are not restricted under the current rules.
- Drivers who violate the rules may be stopped, have their vehicle impounded, and face fines of 20 to 30 UMAs, roughly 2,074.80 to 3,112.20 pesos.
- Cars from Edomex, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala follow the same rules with valid state verification, while foreign or out‑of‑state plates do not circulate on any Saturday.
