Overview
- Vehicles with blue sticker, license plates ending in 9 or 0, and verification hologram 1 or 2 must stay off the road from 5:00 to 22:00.
- The rule applies across Mexico City’s 16 boroughs and 18 conurbated State of Mexico municipalities, including the Valle de Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco zones incorporated in July.
- Exempt vehicles include those with hologram 00 or 0, electric and hybrid models, motorcycles, taxis, public transport and cargo units, and health workers with an authorized pass.
- Drivers who need medical attention may request a free exemption through the Llave CDMX platform by submitting official ID, vehicle registration and documentation proving the medical need.
- Violations carry fines of 20 to 30 UMA, roughly $2,074.80 to $3,112.20 pesos, and may result in towing, and vehicles verified in neighboring states follow the same rules under homologated criteria.
