Overview
- Vehicles with verification holograms 1 and 2 bearing the blue sticker and plate endings 9 or 0 cannot circulate on Friday, Jan. 16, from 5:00 to 22:00.
- The program applies across all Mexico City boroughs and Edomex municipalities in the Valley of Mexico, with coverage extended to areas in the Valle de Toluca and Santiago Tianguistenco.
- Penalties differ by jurisdiction: CDMX imposes 20–30 UMA fines with possible towing to the corralón, while Edomex typically applies a 20 UMA fine.
- Usual exemptions remain in place, including vehicles with holograms 00 and 0, electric and hybrid cars, motorcycles, taxis, public transport and freight, plus authorized health worker vehicles.
- CaMe may activate Doble Hoy No Circula during high pollution events, which can temporarily extend restrictions to vehicles usually exempt such as those with hologram 0 and 00.
