Overview
- CAMe indicates that on Friday, August 22, vehicles with blue sticker, plates ending in 9 or 0, and verification hologram 1 or 2 may not circulate from 05:00 to 22:00.
- The restriction applies in Mexico City’s 16 boroughs and designated State of Mexico municipalities under the harmonized program now in force.
- Despite a Thursday 16:00 report of poor air quality, authorities had not activated an environmental contingency, so standard rules remain in place.
- Exempt vehicles include those with hologram 0 or 00, electric and hybrid models, as well as motorcycles, taxis, public transport, heavy cargo and authorized health personnel.
- Foreign-plated and permit vehicles face a reduced restriction window from 05:00 to 11:00, and violations in CDMX can lead to towing and fines of roughly 20–30 UMAs (about 2,075–3,113 pesos).
